Wenger hopes for Henry lift

Arsene Wenger hopes the sight of Thierry Henry at the Arsenal training ground will inspire his team to maintain their resurgence.

The 34-year-old is training with the club to keep up his fitness during the close season after the New York Red Bulls' play-off campaign came to an end.

Arsenal play Norwich on Saturday hoping to make it five wins in succession and Wenger is keeping his fingers crossed that the former Gunners skipper's influence will go some way to helping them achieve that.

Big player

"Thierry was in with our training today, and he does not need to show how good he is," Wenger toldArsenal Player.

"He just wants to stay fit and enjoy the football club again, because he is at home here and it is always good to have him back.

"When you are not the day before the game, it is possible of course for him to practise with the first team.

"It is always a lift to see what a big player he still is."
