BackArsenal have confirmed Jack Wilshere could be sidelined for up to two months due to his nagging ankle injury.
Wilshere has missed the start of the new season for Arsenal and England after suffering the problem in pre-season.
The 19-year-old currently wearing a surgical boot to protect the injury and it is feared he will not be in action until November.
The injury means Wilshere will miss England's remaining Euro 2012 qualifiers and most of Arsenal's Champions League group stage fixtures.
Wilshere tweeted: "I can confirm I will be out for around 2-3 months! I am working hard in the gym to stay fit and I am gutted but I will be back stronger!"
Arsenal are refusing to rush Wilshere back as they do not want the classy midfielder to suffer any relapse.
Wilshere is not expected to return to light training until next month and it is unlikely he will be able to be available for Arsene Wenger until November at the earliest.
The news is a major blow for Wenger as he looks to get his side back on track after a disappointing start to the campaign.
