Jack suffered a setback on his way to recovery, but is not ruled out for the season. Speaking on February 14, Arsene Wenger said: "The recovery of his latest problem looks very, very good. His last scan was very positive so we go here cautiously, step by step, because we tried to push him back quicker and we had a setback. This time we have to be very cautious and not go too quick. He can be back before the end of the season, of course."

It was a case for Pires, for Edu and now Frimpong. I believe that it is unfortunate. The fortunate situation is that we could have surgery straight away and that this threat over his head is now gone. It's a tough time because he was doing very well at Wolves. But hopefully we can get him back in the Autumn."

Theo was forced off in the Chelsea game. Speaking after the game, Arsene Wenger said: "It looks like a serious hamstring. First we assessed the hamstring, he wanted to go on and stay on the pitch, and I think he should have gone off straight away because the second time it was a real hamstring [injury]. I think now for him it will be tough to come back before the end of the season. It is usually 21 days [minimum]. He should be OK to play for England - he just will have a good rest. You suddenly become favourite to win the European Championship! But I don't think he will be ready to play for us."
