Gunners seal Squillaci deal
We have renewed the Rumours and Transfers and from now on it will be known as The Reporter.
New changes:
You have the section divided into rumours and pieces of news. You can add photos to the news and rumours. If look carefully, each news that contains an image will have a small icon next to it referring to the image.
Classification of news and rumours:
The classification of news and rumours will be based on two criteria: number of votes and ancestry. The latest and the most voted news and rumours will be displayed on the top. If for example you observe that at the end of one week a news or rumour a lot of votes goes below another article with less votes it will be because it is not so new. In any case you can choose between looking at it in this order, only the latest, the most commented on or only news or rumours.
How do I upload a news?
Inside the section, on the left you will find the "Upload news" botton.
How do I upload a rumour?
Inside this section, on the left you will find the "Upload rumour" botton.
How do I vote for a news or a rumour?
You only have to click on the arrows beside it. The green one means you like it amd the red one (by now it is only available for the users with highest rank) means you don't like it.
Gunners seal Squillaci deal
PIECE OF NEWSArsenal have wrapped up the signing of defender Sebastien Squillaci from Sevilla for an undisclosed fee. Sevilla confirmed earlier in the week that an offer had been accepted for Squillaci and the France international was heading to Arsenal to undergo a medical.
The 30-year-old has now finalised the move to Emirates Stadium to become Arsene Wenger's third signing of the summer.
Wenger had been looking to improve his defensive options, particularly at centre-back, after losing William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre, Sol Campbell and Philippe Senderos since the end of last season. Laurent Koscielny has been brought in from Lorient and further depth has been added to the Gunners' back-line with the acquisition of Squillaci.
The former Lyon centre-half will also be eligible for Arsenal's UEFA Champions League campaign after pulling out of Sevilla's play-off tie against Braga.
However, Squillaci is unlikely to make his Gunners debut until after the international break as he will not be involved against Blackburn in the Premier League on Saturday. Wenger confirmed: "We needed a centre-back of quality and experience if possible, and at the right price - he was all of that. He is a real defender and is good in the one against one, good in the air, and can score goals on set-pieces as well. I believe he will be suited to the English game. He will train with us tomorrow morning, but will not be involved on Saturday."
In addition to Koscielny and Squillaci, Gunners boss Wenger has signed Marouane Chamakh this summer and reportedly remains in the market for a new goalkeeper.
