BackArsenal are hoping to announce the signing of Lille's Ivory Coast striker Gervinho who is believed to be flying in for further talks and negotiations today.
Lille chairman Michel Seydoux admitted Gervinho wants to move and said: "We know that Gervinho has a personal interest in joining Arsenal."
That is likely to be followed by a move for Bolton's England centre half Gary Cahill and they still want Blackburn's Chris Samba.
Arsenal do not want to pay the £17m buy-out clause in Cahill's contract but the deal could get the go-ahead with a player-plus-cash deal.
That could involve young midfielder Hanri Lansbury on a permanent basis and also Spanish youngster Ignasi Miquel on a season-long loan deal.
Samba is still on Arsenal's wish list but they must offload Sebastien Squillaci while Blackburn want in excess of £12m because of an expensive sell-on clause with is former club Hertha Berlin.
Arsenal are also interested in Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon - who has one year left on his contract - and would be seen as back-up and competition to Wojciech Szczesny. But again they want to offload first with Manuel Almunia and Vito Mannone available.
