Emanuel Eboue has given Arsenal a major boost by signing a new contract.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has tied down Eboue with a new deal until 2014 and his next targets are Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy who also have 18 months to run.
That is a major boost for Wenger to persuade Eboue - a popular member of the squad - to stay as he is versatile and is also a fringe player who does not get regular games.
Wenger insisted he is unlikely to make new signings but is bringing back Aaron Ramsey at the end of his loan spell at Nottingham Forest in January as the Welsh midfielder continues his recovery from a horrific broken leg suffered at Stoke in February.
