The French boss is now the fourth favourite to lose his job before anyone else as he faces the prospect of key players leaving the Emirates on the cusp of the season.

Bookmakers William Hill have dramatically slashed their odds on Arsene Wenger to become the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season.

The news comes amid reports that Arsenal are on the verge of losing Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri to Barcelona and Manchester City respectively.

Wenger's odds were 33/1 before the latest transfer developments but now stand at just 10/1. His odds of lasting the season are 1/6, and 7/2 to face the exit before the end of the campaign.

William Hill spokesman Graham Sharp said: "Should the Gunners get off to a slow start pressure will mount inexorably on Arsene Wenger, in which circumstances it is not impossible to envisage an end to his reign at Arsenal."

Wenger has historically had some of the longest odds in these fields but this may be a sign that his power and influence at the Emirates could be waning.

Three managers are fancied to leave before Wenger: Blackburn boss Steve Kean is 13/8 to leave before anyone else, while QPR's Neil Warnock can be found at 2/1, and Newcastle's Alan Pardew is currently valued at 4/1.

AbdulWakeel If Arsene exit would be of good to the gunners,he should leave then.To me,I see no good in being a fan when peoples happinness are beind changed to sorrow after arsenal's 90 minutes on the pitch.I believe we all know the problem of this noble club and the manager himself knows.Fellow gunners, lets stop hiding behind a finger, its either Arsene enters the market for real players or leave the players to go and make their careers more meaningful.Apart from these, arsenal might remain trophyless, the players medaless and the fans more happiest,to say. I trick my heart for Arsenal.UP GUNNERZ!!!

aidan296 NONONONONO What is wrong his kept usin epl/top 4+champions lge / good cup runs /layers need to stop beening lazy and real go for it each and every match the should be proud to wear the gunners kit and should show the Manager he made the right choice in picking them to play for Arsenal, also the english players in perticulair he has brought in. we owe him you can not kick him while he is down, We dont think so, Arsene wenger we salute you and want you to be here this season then if things are still the same we will look and see but i would give him this season at least and give him a chance and the boo boys have patients with arsenal we will get there,up the gunners.

mkonesi My Brother, we have been doing this for 6 years, would you continue riding a Bus with a shaky Driver, No, you would demand a change, No problem give Wenger the job of academy coach and Scout leader as appreciation.
