Arsenal ready to battle for Sakho

Arsenal and Milan are set to go head to head in a battle to sign highy-rated Paris Saint Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.

The 20-year-old centre half has been a Ligue 1 regular since he was 17 when he was named the youngest-ever captain in the history of top-flight French football.

And the Gunners have been keeping regular tabs on the France Under 21 star who could make his full debut against England at Wembley this week.

However, Italian giants Milan are also interested in signing the £8million-rated utility man who has also played at full back.

Sakho is is contracted to the French side until the end of the 2011/2012 season but he is currently in talks with his club about a new deal.
